The archipelago of Raja Ampat ("The Four Kings")

It is also famous as an outstanding diving area with a huge variety of marine life. Hence it is a natural destination for a sailing yacht like La Cardinala.
Depending on your preferences during your trip there can be more emphasis on exploring or more on scuba diving. But of course please rember that it's always up to you to discuss your specific preferences with the captain so that he can adapt an itinerary to your wishes.
Raja Ampat Exploration Cruise
Day 1:
Leaving Sorong on board of La Cardinala, the yacht sets sail to the heart of the Coral Triangle in the Raja Ampat archipelago. The area is known to be one of the richest coral reef ecosystems in the world. Limestone islands cover the horizon offering dramatic views on some of which the famous bird of paradise can be found. On board the yacht there will be ample time for snorkelling to explore the stunningly beautiful coral reefs. Some of the limestone islands will be visited by dinghy in order to explore the beaches with hikes as an optional activity.
Penemu Island / Alyui Bay / Waigeo Island
We explore on foot in the low limestone isle of Penemu, with its shallow marine lake filled with cassiopeia jellyfish and juvenile sharks, and by dinghy in the forest-lined inland waterways. We anchor in North Waigeo and next morning we snorkel the rich Alyui reefs. A short transfer to Uranie Island gives us the opportunity to make a short trek to the mountain top for a breathtaking 360-degree view of Raja Ampat's beautiful limestone islands. The lush interior of Raja Ampat is known for its rich avian life. Lorikeets, parrots, kingfishers, eagles, and hornbills are commonly seen here. Each evening we anchor in a perfect setting of turquoise waters and green islands. Imagine sipping your glass of Bordeaux wine and watching large rays feeding within your sight. Life doesn't get better!
Days 6-8:
Wayag Island / Gam Island
Wayag is absolutely stunning, with the ultimate "dream island" setting of jungle-covered rock outcrops and waters of every imaginable shade of blue and green. There are countless small islets interspersed among the larger islands of the Wayag Group. We explore these incredible rock islands and two major bays. From here we set sail for Gam Island for some special snorkelling experience: we see leatherback turtles feed on jellies. On an island hike, we look for the red bird of paradise, first made known to the Western world by pioneering naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace, who made his famous voyage here in 1860.
