The North Maldives cover an extensive area with several atolls and many islands and lagoons to visit. And even though your sailing voyage mostly starts and ends from Male (with its international airport), every journey is unique and tailor made in close co-operation with you. All depending on your interests: sailing, diving, snorkelling, beach exploration, meeting the people of the Maldives or simply lazing around. A sample itinerary of 1 week charter in the North Maldives
North Male Atoll
At Hulhule International Airport (Male) you will be picked up by the captain and from there it is only a small transfer in the tender over the aquamarine blue lagoon to where La Cardinala is waiting for you. After your arrival and settling on board we sail a 25 nm inter atoll passage to Eryadhoo Island, NW of the North Male Atoll. Time for your first swimming and snorkeling in crystal clear waters.
South Maalhosmadhoolu Atoll
From Eryadhoo follows a 50 nm navigation to the South Maalhosmadhoolu atoll where you anchor in front of the unspoiled Mendhoo Island for the night.
The next day is a day to relax, snorkel or dive in the waters around Mendhoo Island.
In the afternoon a possible visit to the 5 star Sonevafushi Resort on a neighbouring island (with spa and massage options). Together with the captain you choose a night anchorage in one of the spendidly colourful lagoons.
In the morning it is only a 9 nm sailing trip to the next pristine anchorage at uninhabited Finolhos Island. Another fantastic day of snorkelling, beach combing, swimming or just lazing about on the boat taking in the rythm of the sea and the scenery of paradise. In the afternoon we make a short navigation to Fonimagoodhoo Island, which is also our anchorage for the night.
North Maalhosmadhoolu
From Fonimagoodhoo Island we make a sailing voyage to the North Maalhosmadhoolu atoll, that only recently has been opened to visitors.
You arrive at Wakkaru Island, where it is easy to spend the rest of the day in paradise. We stay here for our night anchorage.
The next morning a short navigation to Khudalhosgiri Island, with its huge lagoon and various unspoiled islands. This lagoon is perfect for exploration with the tender, our so-called "dinghy trek", every island has something new to explore.
Then follows a 50 nm sailing trip to Faadhipolu Island at the Lhaviyani atoll. The main inhabited island, Naifaru, is open for visitors and gives you a goodl chance to see how the Maldivians live, learn and work. This main town provides a central infrastructure for several islands in the attol. It is also where children from other islands go to school. Naifaru is famous for its abundance of coral and unique handicraft. We choose a secluded night anchorage.
After another good night sleep it is time for a perfect sail to Hiriyadoo Island with its stunning reef and breath taking lagoon. More paradise to explore, you can easily spend a day here.
Returning to North Male Atoll
On the last sailing day we make a 65 nm navigation back to the North Male atoll to Nakacchafushi island. A perfect spot for more swimming and snorkelling at your leisure before we sail back to Hulhule Lagoon, close to Male, where we anchor for your last night on board...
...
you will be back!
